  • How will I be involved in discussions about and planning for my child's education?

    • At St Paul’s, we believe that parents and carers are essential partners in their child's education. We value your knowledge of your child and aim to work closely with you to ensure they receive the support they need to learn, develop and thrive.

      How will we involve you?

    • Regular communication: Your child's class teacher will keep you informed about their progress, achievements and any concerns.

    • Individual Support Plans (ISPs): If your child has an ISP, you will be involved in discussing their needs, agreeing targets and reviewing the support provided.

    • Review meetings: ISPs are reviewed half-termly in school. Parents and carers of children receiving SEN Support will have opportunities to discuss their child's progress and support at least three times a year.

    • Your views matter: We will listen to your concerns, experiences and suggestions when planning support for your child.

    • Your child's voice: We will encourage your child to share their views about what helps them learn, what they enjoy and what they find difficult, using communication methods appropriate to their needs.

    • Specialist involvement: Where additional advice or assessment is needed, we will discuss this with you and involve you in the process.

    • Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs): If your child has an EHCP, you will be invited to contribute to their annual review and discussions about their progress, outcomes and future support.

    • Can I request a meeting?

Yes. You do not need to wait for a scheduled parents' evening or review meeting. If you have any concerns or would like to discuss your child's learning or wellbeing, please contact their class teacher or the school SENCO using the email address admin@stpauls909.herts.sch.uk.

We aim to ensure that parents and carers feel listened to, informed and actively involved in decisions about their child's education.

By working together, we can help every child feel happy, included and successful at school.
