Our school was formed by a Trust Deed as the school of the parish of St. Paul’s Chipperfield and has retained close links with the Parish Church. Collective Worship is therefore in accordance with the “Principles and Practices of the Church of England.”

Our school motto: “Love to Learn; Learn to Love” encompasses our belief and vision that our children will achieve and demonstrate the Christian values of belonging, thankfulness, friendship, courage, forgiveness and creativity for others through working together as part of school; church; village and world communities.

Collective worship, within a Christian context, plays an important part in the life of our school. It is an oasis in the day when the community meets together in a calm and peaceful atmosphere and is given the opportunity to reflect and participate. It is quality time and represents something special and separate from the ordinary school routine.

When we think about planning our Collective Worship schedule, we consider whether your worship is the following:

• Inclusive: Will every child feel welcomed and able to engage?
• Invitational: Are opportunities to pray or reflect offered as an invitation rather than an expectation?
• Inspiring: Will this worship leave pupils with something meaningful to think about or act upon?

To support our pupils with developing their own spirituality and ability to reflect, we support them to understand and use the concept of 'In, Out and Up':

Our School Prayer

Our school prayer was created and devised by our pupils and school community. From spending some time thinking about what we felt was important for use to pray for, we worked together to write our St Paul's prayer. This prayer is used within our daily Collective Worship and each class starts their day with this prayer, helping us to reflect and be thankful for our education and our day ahead ...
