The school’s SEN budget is primarily used to provide: additional staff support or resources that will directly benefit children with SEND.
Furthermore, it is used to facilitate:
In cases where children have significant needs and have been given an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan), the possible funding attached to the child and plan will be discussed between yourself and the SENCo. A banding tool is then sent to a further panel to decide on the level of Top Up funding given to the school. The funding provided will match the level of additional need/resources identified in the plan. This is reviewed annually.
In cases where children have significant needs but have no EHCP, the school may apply for High Needs Funding (HNF) from the Local Authority. This funding is allocated to a particular pupil and the school may use it in whichever way most benefits that child. The funding is issued for a maximum of 3 terms.
