How is the decision made about how much support my child will receive?

The SENCo will coordinate and prioritise provision according to the needs of all the children in the school. Class teachers will make a recommendation to the SENCo for specific support.

All interventions are time limited and are reviewed and monitored to ensure that they are the appropriate provision for that particular child and that they are impacting on progress.

Some children with exceptional needs receive specific funding for specialist equipment or support that cannot be supplied through what is normally available in school.

All the above decisions are done in consultation with parents (see Code of Practice chapters 1 and 6).
