In Science, our topic is Animals including Humans. We will be looking at the difference between vertebrates and invertebrates. We will research carnivores, omnivores and herbivores and will be studying the human skeleton and finding out the names of some bones. We will also compare skeletal systems in other animals.
In Computing we will be designing and creating our own mini movies, using Stopmotion software.
This half - term our DT topic is designing a pencil case and we will be learning sewing and applique to make our own designs.
Geography:
Our topic is sustainability. Just like last half-term, we are looking at sustainability, including how we can be more sustainable to help our planet for future generations. We have learnt about renewable and non-renewable energy sources, including wind turbines and solar panels. We have also looked at solar cookers, and how they are helping people in Nepal live more sustainably by using the energy from the sun to heat up pots and pans.
RE:
Our topic in RE is Sikhism. We have been learning about Guru Nanak and his teachings, as well as the langar and the Gurdwara. We know that the langar is the free kitchen that Sikhs set up for everybody, to promote equality. The Gurdwara is where Sikhs go to worship their God. We transformed our own classroom into a Gurdwara and had our own version of Karah Parshad at the end of the lesson (a bourbon)!
Transforming our classroom into a Gurdwara!
In PSHE, we have been thinking about our dreams and goals, including any challenges that come along with them. We have been thinking of other people's dreams and goals and creating a garden for other people who would benefit from it. Bertie's group have been creating a garden for his brother Arlo. Thomas' group have been creating a garden for his sister Hannah. Freddie's group have been creating a garden for his brother Dilon. We have been looking at buying certain items with a budget of £900 - and we managed to spend it all!
