Year 6 made 4 successful chilli con carnes- hot, medium, mild and veggie mild!
As part of D/T and the school food week, we worked hard to research, plan, make and evaluate our chilli con carnes! Many people believe chilli con carne comes from Texas; however, we were pleased to learn it originates with the Aztecs- which is what we are learning about in history! We enjoyed carrying out market research to find out people's likes and dislikes and we loved cooking altogether and learnt some tips for cutting onions and peppers efficiently and effectively...although the onions did reduce most of us to tears! Parents enjoyed sampling our food at parent consulatations and we evaluated it using criteria- smell, taste, appearance and texture. Teh HOT, SPICY one was the class favourite!
